Rockstar Launches Steam Sale for Older GTA Titles Ahead of GTA 6 Release

While the gaming world is buzzing with the upcoming launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 on November 19, PC players are facing the harsh reality of a console-only release for now. However, Rockstar Games is throwing a bone to the PC crowd with a massive GTA steam sale, allowing fans to revisit the classics at their lowest prices yet. Whether you want to relive the neon-soaked streets of Vice City or dive into the grittier narrative of Liberty City, now is the perfect time to build your collection.

Understanding the Current GTA Deals

Rockstar has significantly slashed prices on two major bundles, making these legacy titles more affordable than ever. According to tracking data, the GTA Trilogy is currently sitting at its historical low, while GTA 4 is hovering near its cheapest price point on record. Here is what is on offer:

• Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition: Includes GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas for $19.79 (67% off).
• Grand Theft Auto 4: Complete Edition: Includes the base game plus The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony expansions for just $6 (70% off).

Should You Buy the Trilogy or GTA 4?

The Definitive Edition of the trilogy had a notoriously rocky start in 2021, but it has undergone significant improvements since hitting Steam in 2023. While GTA 3 retains a mixed rating due to its dated mechanics, both Vice City and San Andreas have climbed to ‘Very Positive’ status, proving that the updates have largely fixed the original launch issues.

Why GTA 4 Remains a Must-Play

If you have to choose only one, Grand Theft Auto 4: Complete Edition is widely considered the superior value. As a bridge between the arcade-style chaos of the older titles and the modern design philosophy of today’s open-world games, it offers a distinct tone and narrative depth that remains unmatched. At its current price point, it is arguably the best bang-for-your-buck entry in the entire catalog.

What This Means for PC Gamers

While these discounts do not replace the excitement of a new release, they serve as a solid distraction for those awaiting their eventual turn to play the next installment. By discounting these titles exclusively on PC—where GTA 6 is currently absent—Rockstar ensures that the franchise remains relevant and accessible to the platform’s massive user base. These deals are perfect for newcomers wanting to see where the franchise started or veterans looking for a nostalgia trip before the next big leap forward.
