My Adventures with Green Lantern: Production Update and Series Details

DC Studios is officially expanding its animated universe with My Adventures with Green Lantern, a highly anticipated spinoff of the successful My Adventures with Superman series. As fans eagerly await news on the live-action Lanterns project, co-CEO Peter Safran has confirmed that the animated production is already deep into development, with animation reviews currently underway.

What to Expect from My Adventures with Green Lantern

The series will shift the spotlight to Jessica Cruz, a young student whose life changes forever when she is chosen by a Green Lantern Power Ring. Fans got their first glimpse of Cruz in the third season of My Adventures with Superman, which set the stage for her own solo journey. Key details confirmed by DC Studios include:

• Episode Count: The debut season will consist of 10 half-hour episodes.
• Creative Team: Showrunners Jake Wyatt and Brendan Clogher, the masterminds behind the Superman series, are leading this project.
• Voice Talent: The series will feature Auliʻi Cravalho, widely known for her role as Moana, as the voice of Jessica Cruz.

A Familiar Tone with New Galactic Stakes

Safran noted that while the show maintains the energetic, character-driven tone that made My Adventures with Superman a hit, it will explore entirely new corners of the DC lore. The narrative will see Jessica balancing her life as a student while navigating the intense responsibilities of the Green Lantern Corps, leading her into conflict with ancient alien threats.

Tonally similar. Obviously, thematically very different because it’s dealing with different characters and different lore, but the things that I loved so much about My Adventures with Superman are firmly in My Adventures with Green Lantern.

By keeping the core creative team intact, DC is betting on the same winning formula of grounded character development paired with high-flying superhero action. With the team currently reviewing animatics, the project is moving steadily through its production pipeline, promising a fresh perspective on the Green Lantern mythos for a new generation of viewers.
